Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses the body’s natural healing components to support the repair of injured or damaged tissues. PRP is created from a small sample of the patient’s own blood, which is processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors that play a key role in tissue healing. When injected into injured joints, ligaments, or tendons, PRP delivers these healing factors directly to the affected area to support tissue repair and recovery. At TECM Health, PRP therapy is part of our regenerative medicine approach designed to help reduce pain, improve joint function, and restore movement.
About PRP Treatment
PRP therapy is performed as an in-office procedure and typically takes 30–45 minutes. The process begins with drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood, similar to a routine lab draw.
The blood is then placed into a specialized centrifuge that separates and concentrates the platelets and healing growth factors. Once prepared, the platelet-rich plasma is carefully injected into the targeted joint, tendon, or ligament using precise injection techniques.
Most patients can return to normal daily activities shortly after treatment, although mild soreness in the treated area is common for a few days as the body’s healing response begins. Depending on the condition being treated, some patients may benefit from a series of PRP injections spaced several weeks apart.
By harnessing the body’s natural healing mechanisms, PRP therapy helps support tissue repair, improve joint function, and promote long-term recovery.
