Meet Dr. Teresita Barrantes, NMD

Care Philosophy

 I’m Dr. Teresita Barrantes, a Naturopathic Physician practicing in the vibrant state of Arizona and the co-owner and co-founder of TECM Health. I specialize in women’s health, hormone and digestive imbalances, weight management, and chronic pain. Being fully fluent in both Spanish and English allows me to connect with a diverse range of patients, and I am especially honored to serve the Hispanic community here in Tempe, Arizona.

My educational journey began at the University of Costa Rica in San José, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Although I enjoyed the sciences, I felt called to a more holistic and healing-centered path. That passion led me to pursue my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the SouthwestCollege of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona.

I believe deeply in a holistic, patient-centered approach—one that addresses the root causes of illness rather than simply masking symptoms. This philosophy guides my work in women’s health, where I commonly support patients with PMS, menopause symptoms, anxiety, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and other hormonal concerns. As a certified BioTE provider, I also offer advanced expertise in evaluating and treating hormone imbalances for both men and women.

My mission is to empower you to achieve optimal health by addressing your full story—physical, emotional, and biochemical. I offer a comprehensive range of naturopathic treatments including nutritional counseling, acupuncture, bioidentical hormone therapy (BHT), herbal medicine, and nutritional supplementation to support healing from the inside out.

My husband, Dr. Corey, and I founded TECM Health with one goal in mind: to help patients achieve their best health through a higher standard of care than the conventional model provides. With our combined training, dedication, and genuine passion for patient well-being, we’re here to guide you toward a balanced, healthy, and fulfilling life.
